Thanks to everyone who has sponsored and re-sponsored your Angels for the 2011 Tour. We are honored to carry the names and Hometowns of your beautiful children on our Angel Trailer as we travel all over the country playing music and speaking to bereaved families.
Thanks to all who support my work and ministry in honor of my precious 18-year-old daughter Ashley who was killed in an automobile accident in August of 2001. Just like most of you who have had someone close to you die, my world changed forever on that day. I took my pain and journey and turned them into songs….it helped me heal as I began sharing these songs with others who had suffered a similar loss…it turned into a beautiful ministry that has taken me all across this country many times.
It is hard to believe but I have played more than 600 events these past 7 years in the United States and Canada for grief and loss organizations, hospice facilities, churches, and other groups helping the hurting and those going through grief. I have had the privilege to be a key-note speaker and play music and present workshops at many regional, national, and international conferences on grief on loss.
In 2010, I was named the “Professional of the Year” by the National Board of Directors of The Compassionate friends, what an incredible honor from the largest organization in the world offering support to bereaved families. I have presented concerts and spoken at more than 170 TCF Chapters, so it meant so much to me to receive that award at our National Conference in the Washington D.C. area in July.
On January 30th, I will release a new CD (my 4th) about living with loss and navigating life once more after tragedy strikes. The new CD is titled “Peace in the Mourning”…and the songs I have written for it I am very proud of and I hope you will like them.
We are once again doing the Angels Across the USA Tour in 2011. We will travel to and speak and play for groups of any size, regardless of where they are located or their ability to pay our expenses…this ministry is made possible by families who sponsor a butterfly decal with the name and home town of their child/grandchild/sibling we place on our Angel Trailer that is displayed at each event. We proudly display a picture of all our sponsoring angels at each event as well…and let me tell you, these Angels will be putting on some miles and seeing every part of the USA this coming year.
